Easy Au gratin potato recipe
This tasty au gratin potato recipe
is one of my favorite quick meal.
Nothing is better then the crunchy crust
on top and the soft and creamy potatoes
Gratin is a kind of the French casserole
that is usually covered with cheese or
breadcrumb and bake.
However the original French gratin contains
no cheese and It's often made with Basic white sauce.
Our version of au gratin potato or scalloped potato
recipe is pretty easy that I could say,
"if you can boil an egg, you definitely can make it"
Quick au Gratin potato recipe
- 6 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 100 ml of fresh cream
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 80 g of grated cheddar cheese
Boil the potatoes until they are quite soft
then thinly slice them.
Lay the potatoes onto the deep baking dish,
pour in the cream and sprinkle some salt on it.
Preheat the oven at 180 ºC and bake the potatoes
for around 10-15 minutes then sprinkle the cheese
on top of the potatoes.
Continue baking for around 5 minutes
until the cheese is melted and lightly browned.
Rest our gratin outside the oven for few minutes, slice
it up and place onto the dishes. Serve warm.
