Drunken noodles recipe
(Pad Kee Mao)

let's try our beef Drunken noodles recipe.
It's one of the most famous and typical Thai dishes.
Normally the noodle is seasoned with chili, garlic, sauces
and most importantly basil leaves.

Some people believe that the name "Pad Kee Mao" or Drunken noodle
came from the hot and the spiciness that could cure you from
the hangover. Other believe that it's so hot that only the drunks
would be able to stand it.

Whatever the reason is, don't let me put you off with the spiciness.
As you don't have to put any chili in this recipe and it'd still be lovely.
However if you like it hot and spicy
then add as much chilies as you need.
It's your choice.

Hot & Spicy Beef drunken noodles recipe (Pad Kee Mao)

Ingredients

  • 400 g of dried rice noodles
  • 1 beef sirloin steak (150g) thinly sliced (or any tender steak)
  • 10 fresh basil leaves
  • 4 cloves of garlic finely chopped
  • 2 red chilies finely chopped (As prefer)
  • 2 tablespoons of light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of dark soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • ½ cup of chicken stock
  • 1 tablespoon of oil

Directions

1 Soak the noodle in the warm water until it's quite tender.

2 Cook the noodle in a large pot of boiling water until
it's cooked but not too soft. Drain and rinse the noodle
with cold water to prevent it from sticking.

3 Heat up the oil in the pan then stir in garlic and chilies.
After frying them for few seconds, stir in beef and cook
for 3-4 minutes until ití»s cooked.

4 Add light soy sauce, dark soy sauce and sugar then pour in the stock. Bring the mixture to boil then toss in the noodle and basil leaves.

Stir fry every thing for about a minute.
Turn onto the dishes Serve hot.

Serve 4
