Easy beef stew in white sauce

You will love this easy beef stew in white sauce.
It's a rich and yummy stew recipe. it's perfect
meal in itself or serve with steam rice, pasta,
bread or boiled potatoes.

Easy beef stew in white sauce recipe


  • 400g of less tender part of beef,
    cut into big chunks (Stew beef,
    Gravy Beef or Chunk steak etc.)
  • 3 large potatoes, peeled and diced
    (around 1 inch each pieces)
  • 2 large onions, diced
    (around 1 inch each pieces)
  • 4 cloves of garlic, crushed
  • 50g butter
  • 3 tablespoons of corn flour
  • 1 cup of vegetable stock or water
  • 100ml of fresh cream
  • Salt and freshly ground white pepper to taste


1 Melt the butter in the pot, add garlic
and beef, brown the beef for few minutes.

2 Add potato and onion, continue
cooking for 2-3 minutes.

3 Pour in the stock and bring all the ingredients
to boil, skim all the scum surfaced.

4 Turn down the heat, cover and simmer for around
1 1/2 hours until the beef is quite tender.
if the stock is low, add some more water.

5 Add the fresh cream, stir softly, cover and simmer for
another 40minutes.

6 mix the corn flour with little water to make a paste.
Turn up the heat then add the corn flour paste.
Stir well to thicken.Add some salt and pepper to taste

Serve on top of rice, pasta, noodle or toasted bread
